Rocky VI (2007)
Rocky Balboa (formerly known as Rocky VI) is a film written by, directed by, and starring, Sylvester Stallone as underdog boxer Rocky Balboa. It will be the sixth film in the Rocky series, which began with the Oscar-winning Rocky 30 years earlier in 1976. The film has received an MPAA rating of PG for boxing violence & some language.
In this new
installment of the Rocky series, Rocky Balboa returns to the ring
to fight the present world champion... It's been many years since
Rocky Balboa has been in the ring. Through that time his wife
Adrian died of cancer, and he and his son, Rocky Jr., have been
growing apart. Rocky owns his own deli, and people will come in
just to hear his stories. Now ESPN is holding these virtual boxing
matches pairing up fighters from different eras, it is a
competition. And in the end it showed that if there was a match
between "Young" Rocky and the champion Mason "The
Line" Dixion, Rocky would win. Seeing this virtual fight
makes Rocky remember how much he misses being in the ring. He
doesn't miss the winning part, he misses the sport. So he
re-registers for his license... This creates a media firestorm,
and who should hear about it but Mason himself. Paper View wont
pay him anymore because they believe that he is fighting all
second rate fighters, and that he's a "paper champion".
So his people suggest a fight between him and Rocky. Dixon
agrees... The opportunity is brought to Rocky who at first is a
little cautious at first, but soon agrees also. Now it is a Battle
of the Ages. A true battle of Will v.s. Skill. With the help of
Paulie, Tony (his old trainer), and of course his son, it is
truly, his final countdown.
Notorious
(2007)
A film about the
deaths of Biggie
and Tupac, and the Los Angeles Police Department corruption
scandal that lurks beneath the story. Stallone plays LAPD
detective Russell Poole. The real-life Poole was a key figure in
exposing the corruption in the LAPD's Rampart division, and his
interpretation of events is key in the theories that say Biggie
and Tupac were killed as part of a gang-police-rap power triangle.
Rambo IV
(2007)
Rambo IV is an upcoming film, starring Sylvester Stallone as Vietnam War veteran John Rambo. It is scheduled for a May, 2007
release.
It must be noted that Rambo IV is simply an informal working title; it is believed that the film does not currently have an official sub-title, although rumored ones include In The Serpent's Eye, Holy War, End of Peace, and Rambo Returns.
John Rambo, a
seasoned retired solider now, has been living a life of peace and
solitude with his wife and daughter for about 18 years. But when
his daughter goes missing, Rambo returns to his old ways and goes
on a hunt to find who is responsible for the kidnapping. The main
bulk of the new film will deal with a Colonel by the name of
William Keating searching for a U.S. Fugitive wrongly accused of
war crimes against America. In the fugitive's search to free his
name and in Rambo's search to free his daughter, Rambo and this
wrongfully accused man must fight together. The First was for
himself, the Second was for his Country, the Third was for his
Friend, this time it's for his family.

emergencies. It all begins when Snaps's accountant suddenly
declares his intention to wed the ex-gangster's daughter (Marisa
Tomei)--but he's not the only prospective husband banging at
Snaps's door. Then, just to complicate matters, his daughter
announces she's pregnant. Later, a young stranger arrives,
claiming to be Snaps's daughter--which is news to him. And that's
just the beginning of the confusion in this madcap farce from

the pet store, Rocky Jr. (Sage Stallone) struggles to endure a
punishingly tough high school, and Rocky is forced to face that
his championship career is finally over. Soon, though, Rocky
returns to what he knows best--boxing. He becomes a manager for
Tommy Gunn (Tommy Morrison), an up-and-coming boxer, teaching him
all of the tricks of the trade. Inspired by the memory of his own
trainer, Mickey (Burgess Meredith), Rocky is able to find glory in
training. However, Tommy leaves his tutelage for George W. Duke
(Richard Gant), a flashy Don King-like promoter, and Rocky's rage

recalls the brutal glory and hard-knocks finale of the original
ROCKY.

gung-ho basher, must bury their enmity in order to work together
when they are framed for murder by a ruthless international crime

Rambo
III (1988)
Action/Adventure
101 min. RAMBO III, which could be called "Rambo in
Afghanistan," is set in 1988, near the end of the Soviet
Union's involvement there. At the beginning of the film, John
Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is living a secluded life in a Buddhist
monastery in Thailand. When Rambo's close friend and mentor from
the American military, Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna), asks for
Rambo's help with a top-secret mission in Afghanistan, Rambo
declines. Trautman goes in anyway and is captured by a ruthless
Russian commander. In response, Rambo leaves his peaceful life,
determined to rescue Trautman. Armed with only a handful of glow
sticks and a dozen detonators, Rambo travels to Pakistan where he
meets with a group of Mujaheddin freedom fighters who agree to
lead him across the border into Afghanistan. On horseback, Rambo
and the Mujaheddin approach the daunting Afghan landscape--high
cliffs, jagged desert mountains, and networks of underground
tunnels and caves. But before they even reach the prison where
Trautman is held, the Russians head them off in a high-speed
helicopter chase through steep ravines. From this point forward,
the action never abates. Rambo, whose complexion is a deep crimson
throughout the film, scales cliffs with his bare (bleeding) hands,
and defies husky guards and scores of heavily armed Russian
soldiers. There are many intense parts of RAMBO III, including a
disturbing look inside a shop that sells machine guns and
prosthetic limbs to mine victims, and several action sequences in
which Afghan soldiers use American-supplied shoulder-mount rocket
launchers against the Soviets. But perhaps the most memorable
scene of the film is a close-up on Rambo, alone in a dimly lit
cave, where he removes a bullet from his stomach and then performs
a dazzling medical trick with the leftover gunpowder.
Over
the Top (1987)
Action/Adventure Big-rig trucker Lincoln Hawk's (Sylvester Stallone) only

talent for armwrestling.
Cobra
(1986)
Action/Adventure A street-tough detective's no-nonsense approach to law

cure."
Rambo
- First Blood Pt. 2 (1985)

III (1982)
Drama The third chapter of the life of Rocky Balboa finds Rocky's
lifestyle of wealth and idleness suddenly shaken when a powerful
fighter challenges him to a bout. After soundly losing, the
previously overconfident champ begins training for a rematch.
Sylvester Stallone once again directs himself in the film, with
Talia Shire by his side. Mr. T makes an excellent villain in this
film as the loud and decisive Clubber Lang, who is trying to
prevent Rocky from getting the "eye of the tiger."
Nighthawks
(1981)
Action/Adventure Two N.Y. cops (Sylvester Stallone and Billy Dee Williams)

find out about the competition, they pit the Allies against
Germany's best team -- but they don't realize that the P.O.W.s
plan to use the upcoming big game as a means of escaping.
The Allied team includes John Colby, a British officer who also
played soccer before the war, and Robert Hatch, an American
soldier who cares far more about gaining his freedom than the game
itself.
When the P.O.W.s realize they have a good shot at beating the Nazi
team in front of a huge crowd, they must decide what's more
important: finishing the match or getting out alive.
Rocky

Paradise
Alley (1978)
Comedy Three none-too-bright brothers struggle to find a way out of
New York's seedy Hell's Kitchen, circa 1946. One brother hopes to
make it big as a wrestler. Film marked Mr. Stallone's debut as a
"director," and he also sings the theme song.
Cannonball
(1976)
Action/Adventure High energy action film about an illegal & lengthy
marathon road race where the goal is to make it to the finish
without being arrested or incinerated. Look for cameos from cult
directors Martin Scorcese and Roger Corman.
Rocky
(1976)
Drama Director John G. Avildsen's ROCKY is the stand-up-and-cheer
saga of Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), an underdog boxer who
gets his million-to-one shot at love, self-respect, and the world
heavyweight title. Rocky is a down-on-his-luck Philadelphia
southpaw who works at a meat-packing factory while fighting at a
local club. He's given the chance of a lifetime when the world
heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), chooses him as
an unlikely opponent in his championship bicentennial fight. What
was originally planned as a publicity stunt becomes a chance for
Rocky to prove himself as a prizefighter while training with his
cantankerous manager, Mickey (Burgess Meredith), to rise to the
challenge. Thrilling scenes of Rocky's arduous training, including
his unforgettable run up the Philadelphia Art Museum steps, are
interspersed with a sweet and touching love story between the
fighter and his best friend's shy sister, Adrian (Talia Shire).
With the love of Adrian on his side, Rocky struggles to overcome
the odds, fighting with all his heart in the glorious and brutal
finale. Shot with gritty realism on the mean streets of
Philadelphia, ROCKY introduced a new American cinematic hero,
spurred on by rollicking action sequences and a rousing
soundtrack. A triumph for star and screenwriter Stallone, who
himself came from nowhere to reach the top, ROCKY is
crowd-pleasing entertainment at its finest.
Death
Race 2000 (1975)
Science
Fiction/Fantasy More delightfully sick humor from Bartel (EATING RAOUL). In a
boorish future, the government sponsors a popular, but bloody,
cross-country race in which points are scored by mowing down
pedestrians--with bonus points for the elderly! Five teams, each
comprised of a male and female, compete using cars equipped with
deadly weapons. Frankenstein, the mysterious returning champion,
has become America's hero, but this time he has a passenger from
the underground resistance. A legendary cult film.
The
Prisoner of Second Avenue (1975)
Comedy This comedy-drama is about a recently unemployed executive and
the resulting trauma which follows him and his understanding wife.
The
Lords of Flatbush (1974)
Drama A group of dim-witted Brooklyn thugs have a series of colorful
adventures in the 1950's. A gritty, overlooked gem with a lot of
heart. The script was co-written by a young Stallone. Co-star
Winkler was on the cusp of creating national hysteria in his role
at Fonz on TV's "Happy Days."
Rebel
(1973)
Drama A 60's student radical is torn between his political ideology
and his love for a comely country girl. The fate of a Manhattan
skyscraper hangs in the balance.
Bananas
(1971)
Comedy Woody Allen leads a revolution in a small Latin American
dictatorship in this hysterical comedy that parodies everything
from the American media and political activism to the CIA and the
judicial system. Allen plays Fielding Mellish, a nebbish unwilling
to commit to anything--until he meets Nancy, played by Louise
Lasser. Mellish soon finds himself fighting with guerrilla forces
in the small third world country of San Marcos, and he becomes an
international figure, even appearing on ABC's WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS
with Howard Cosell, who plays himself. The film is loaded with
sight gags that pay homage to Chaplin, Bergman, and the Marx
Brothers while taking on politics, government, and religion, even
breaking for a commercial for cigarettes endorsed by the church.
One of the most memorable scenes of Allen's career occurs when
Mellish defends himself in the funniest courtroom scene since the
Three Stooges' DISORDER IN THE COURT. Allen's obsessions with
food, sex, and death begin to take form here, on their way to
becoming major themes in such films as LOVE AND DEATH, ANNIE HALL,
and HANNAH AND HER SISTERS.
Italian
Stallion (1970)
Manhattan playboy
Stud (Sylvester Stallone) and his girlfriend Kitty have a rocky
relationship, which is at its strongest when they have one of
their legendary parties, which usually turn into orgies. This 1970
softcore entry is notable for it's inclusion of footage of a
hungry, pre-ROCKY Stallone in the altogether.
