Pies Descalzos (1995) : Pies Descalzos (English: Bare Feet) is a studio album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, released in 1996. This album has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. It is widely considered as her breakthrough album because of the commercial failure of her two previous “promotional” albums, and therefore is now considered to be her first official album.
Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998) : Dónde están los ladrones? (English translation: Where Are the Thieves?) is the second official studio album by Shakira, released in 1998. Dónde Están los Ladrones? sold ten million copies worldwide. The album is one of the highest selling Spanish-language albums in the United States. Two of the album’s songs garnered Shakira the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. In addition, it was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1999 for Best Latin Album. The album was re-issued in 2005, to promote the sales of Oral Fixation Vol. 2. The album also contains two bonus tracks in certain countries.
Laundry Service (2001) : Laundry Service (Servicio De Lavandería in Spanish-speaking territories) is the debut English breakthrough studio album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, released on November 13, 2001 by Epic Records. All the songs on the album except Eyes Like Yours (which is a translation of Shakira’s trademark Ojos Así) are original and were fully or partly composed by Shakira. It also contains four songs in Spanish. Shakira recorded this album during almost two years in Uruguay and the Bahamas.
Fijación Oral Vol. 1 (2005) : Fijación Oral Vol. 1 (English: Oral Fixation Vol. 1) is the eighth album by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira. It is also the first Spanish language album released by the multilingual songwriter since 1998. The album has won numerous awards worldwide, including five Latin Grammy Awards and a Grammy Award. The album has sold 4 million copies worldwide and holds the record for highest debut ever for a Spanish language album in the United States.
Oral Fixation Vol. 2 (2005) : Oral Fixation Vol. 2 is the second English studio album (seventh overall) by Colombian pop singer-songwriter Shakira, released on November 28, 2005 by Epic Records. According to her biography on her website and Epic Records, the album has sold 8 million copies worldwide.
She Wolf (2009) : She Wolf is the third English studio album (sixth overall) by Colombian Latin-pop singer-songwriter Shakira, first released on October 9, 2009, in Europe through Sony Music, October 12 in the UK with RCA Records and November 23 in the US with Epic Records. The album sees Shakira shift from Latin pop and pop rock to electropop while also exploring dancehall. She co-wrote and co-produced all of the album, apart from her second US single, with Pharrell Williams and his production outfit The Neptunes or duo John Hill and Sam Endicott. The album was preceded by the title single “She Wolf” (“Loba”, in Spanish-speaking countries) which reached top 10 worldwide. “Did It Again” (“Lo Hecho Está Hecho” for Latin America) was released internationally as the second single whilst the US and Canada received the Timbaland-produced “Give It Up to Me” which is only featured on the US version of the album. According to Nielsen Soundscan, She Wolf has sold 303,000 copies in the United States and is the inspiration for the singer’s upcoming She Wolf Tour.
