Prince
- Rave Un2 The Year 2000 (2005)
Prince delivers some of his best
material, including music from his critically-lauded and hugely
successful album RAVE UN2 THE YEAR 2000, as well as a selection of
hits from throughout the years. Filmed at the Paisley Park Studio
in Prince's hometown of Minneapolis, he is joined by a medley of
talented guest stars and superstars, including George Clinton,
Lenny Kravitz, Maceo Parker, Rosie Gaines, and Morris Day. Truly
an event in pop music history, the song list includes such vintage
Prince as "U Got the Look," "Purple Rain," and
"Baby Knows," as well as duets with Kravitz of
"American Woman" and "Fly Away."

Girl 6 (1996)
This Spike Lee film examines the
life of an aspiring actress in New York. She is upset by the
treatment of women in the movie industry during one of her screen
tests with 'QT'. Out of work and desperate for money, she decides
to take a job as a phone-sex operator. Here, unlike her previous
dealings with potential employers, her (female) boss is kind,
caring, and sensitive. Later, she begins to get too engrossed in
her work and starts to lose touch with reality, represented by her
friend and neighbor, Jimmy.

Showgirls (1995)
Nomi Malone is a fiercely
independent young woman who comes to Las Vegas running from a
troubled past. Looking for a break on the Las Vegas Strip, she
lands a job as an erotic dancer at the Cheetah Club. But, to make
ends meet, she also works as a lap dancer in the club's back room.
Possessed of a raw and riveting dancing talent, Nomi is soon
introduced to the vastly different world of the big Las Vegas
shows--and the powerful men and women who run them. Zack, the
handsome and ambitious entertainment director at the Stardust,
could push Nomi into the spotlight. Cristal, the glamorous star of
the stage show Goddess, is inexorably drawn to Nomi's beauty and
spirit and may make her... or break her. As the complex bonds of
passion, jealousy and love form between them, Nomi is pulled
deeper into the world she so desperately desires.

Sarafina!
(1992)
A South African girl, named
Sarafina, lives with her aunt and uncle in Soweto where she
attends school. Her mother works as a maid in a white household in
Johannesburg, and the two rarely see each other. Sarafina battles
her feelings of abandonment and disappointment with passionate
hero-worship of both imprisoned political activist Nelson Mandela
and her rebellious history teacher, Mary Masombuka. Mary
encourages the children to be proud of who they are, and aware of
the political forces that rule their lives. She even helps the
pupils put on a play expressing their desire for the eventual
release of Mandela.

Bridge (1990)
Prince returns as the kid, locked
in a power struggle over the Glam Slam, a prime-location nightclub
he co-owns with Day. Their ongoing battle for control inspires a
potent tale of goodness vs. greed and the redemptive power of love
and self-expression, as well as a succession of roof-raising
musical numbers.

With his best friend, a young
musician travels to the beautiful French Riviera in search of
quick riches. Instead, he falls in love with an extremely
attractive and equally spoiled heiress. The top-of-the-charts
