Bleached blonde, buxom, but muscular bombshell Pamela Anderson stands out in any crowd as one of the sex symbols of the mid-’90s. Known first as a spokesmodel for Labatt beer, then as one of Playboy magazine’s most popular models, Anderson gained international recognition after she was cast as C.J., the sweet but tough lifeguard in the impossibly tight red bathing suit in the phenomenally popular syndicated television series Baywatch.

Her popularity has led to several film roles, notably that of the black leather bustier-wearing title heroine in the comic-book actioner Barb Wire (1996). The role was appropriate, for there is something indeed cartoonish about Anderson, who had enhanced her petite frame with big hairdos, surgically inflated lips, and silicon breast implants (since removed).

A native of Canada, Lee was born in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, on 1st July 1967. She later moved to the city of Vancouver. It was while she attended a British Columbia Lions football game that Lee was “discovered” in a most unusual way.

Dressed in a Labatt’s Beer T-shirt, her image was transmitted on the stadium’s wide screen. The fans cheered the beautiful girl, and she was brought down to the 50-yard line and introduced to the appreciative crowd. As a result, she was signed to a commercial contract with Labatt’s and became the company’s “Blue Zone” girl. The campaign was so popular that other commercials and advertising assignments for Lee soon followed.

Due to the recognition from these commercials she was soon approached to do her first cover for Playboy magazine. Pamela has since gone on to grace the cover an astounding five times, more than any other woman in the magazine’s history.

With the success and recognition she garnered from Playboy, Lee soon moved to Los Angeles where she spent two seasons in the top-ten ABC Television hit series “Home Improvement” as Lisa, the Tool Time Girl. It was on “Home Improvement” that she captured the attention and affection of viewing audiences nationwide.

At the same time, Lee was cast as ‘C.J. Parker’ on the internationally successful series “Baywatch, ” but because of the impossible schedule of working on two hit shows, she eventually left “Home Improvement” and remained full-time on “Baywatch.”

She now stars on one of the most phenomenally popular television programs of all time, which is seen in 140 countries worldwide. Recently, Lee made the transition into the feature film arena, starring in Dark Horse Entertainment’s action comedy “Barb Wire.” Distributed by Gramercy Films, “Barb Wire” was released in the spring of 1996.

In addition, Lee was featured in the CBS movie-of-the-week, “Deader Than Ever, ” a hip and updated Mike Hammer mystery, co-starring Rob Estes. She recently co-starred in the television movie “The Evolution of Mr. E., ” adapted from the H.G. Wells short story, where she portrayed a quirky sculptor/artist. Pamela is was wed to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, and the couple had two children. However, the couple divorced in early 1998.

Anderson has also kept her name in the press through her high-profile, stormy marriage to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee (notably with her white bikini “wedding gown,” a stolen honeymoon sex video, and Lee’s substance abuse) as well as having the breast implants in her famous 34C chest removed in 1999, only to have them upsized (seemingly larger than ever) again in 2000. In 2002, after having divorced Lee and four seasons of “V.I.P” behind her, Anderson announced she was taking a year off to concentrate on her health and spend time with her sons and her boyfriend–and later on-again, off-again fiance–music star Kid Rock. She did have some projects still in the works however, including starting a regular magazine column for Jane and producing an animated series based on her likeness in the form of a superhero called “Striperella” (Spike, 2003) created by Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, with Anderson voicing Erotica Jones and her altar ego Stripperella, exotic dancer by night and superhero by “later that night.” Anderson would continue to make headlines more for her statuesque profile, risque photo shoots and controversial personal life–including her strong allegiance with extreme animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and the 2002 revelation that she had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, a result she claimed was due to sharing a needle with Lee– than for her acting triumphs. But she continued to be cast, usually as a parody of her own image, such as her provocative turn in the 2003 horror spoof “Scary Movie 3″ opposite her one-time rival Jenny McCarthy.

After launching her own shoe, clothing and pet accessory lines, the blonde bombshell next headlined her own Fox sit-com, the cheekily titled “Stacked” (2005 – ), playing Skyler Dayton, a woman tired of living the fast life and making bad choices in boyfriends who takes a job at a book store.

Throughout her career, Anderson was also an outspoken advocate for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and frequently lent her image–including a famous semi-nude pose with the tagline “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur”–to the cause.

Anderson told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in September 2007 that she was engaged. On September 29, Anderson and Paris Hilton’s ex Rick Salomon applied for a marriage license in Las Vegas. Anderson married Salomon between her two nightly appearances at the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Hans Klok’s magic show in a small wedding ceremony at The Mirage on October 6, 2007. However, on February 22, 2008, Anderson requested through the courts that the marriage be annulled citing fraud

Anderson was repeatedly referenced in the 2006 comedy film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan as the title character seeks to kidnap and marry her. Anderson appears in person at the end of the film confronted by Borat in a staged botched abduction. She performed on February 13–14, 2008 in a Valentine’s Day striptease act at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris.

On July 9, 2008, Anderson entered the Australian Big Brother house for a three-day visit. Her appearance on this show also marked Anderson’s foray into reality television with a series of her own, Pam: Girl on the Loose, which debuted on August 3, 2008 on E! in the United States.

In December 2009, Anderson guest-starred as Genie of the Lamp in the pantomime Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre in Wimbledon, south-west London, England. Anderson took over the role from comedienne Ruby Wax, with former EastEnders actress Anita Dobson and comedian Paul O’Grady also booked for the role.

In the spring of 2010, Anderson appeared as one of the contestants on Dancing with the Stars.
