But it's a blessing to be so successful within a year; it's the greatest feeling in the world, making money and doing the things that I'm doing, and I definitely trying to continue doing what I'm doing.

would show up at any venue that had an open mic.

I started rapping on the station promos. We did them over all of the top hits, so people got to hear me rap over tight beats.

But the thing about skydiving: I feel when you do something where it's almost like your whole life flashes in front of you, it's supposed to be that when you hit the ground, you don't fear anything. And it's really a motivating force for you to just get out there and do as much as you can, because it's crazy.

I made my first complete song when I was 9.

Yeah, it's like them saying that I'm worse than the Osbournes, and that's crazy. I don't know who made that decision, but it's like them saying that and that's ridiculous.

You gotta get up early in the morning to mess with me. I mean, I'm a businessman first-you gotta let the business come before the music, because it's all about being a good person and your ego can't get bigger than yourself and the things you're your trying to do, especially when you're promoting an album. So I feel it's real important to be businesslike in anything I do.

I just feel like O'Reilly is a racist. Definitely a hypocrite. I don't feel as if Pepsi values the black dollar. It's bigger than me. I don't feel that Pepsi values the black dollar because of what they did.

Man, I just knew. When I was in middle school I always used to love listening to rap. The first [song] my pops bought me was U.T.F.O's "Roxanne, Roxanne." So ever since I was about five or six years old, I just liked listening to it. Then, when I was about eight or nine, I kinda started doing it for friends in middle school. They liked hearing it.

They wanted to hear more, so that's what motivated me to keep doing it. I got in the studio. I've been through so many groups... and so many demo tapes. You know, practice makes perfect. When I was in Atlanta and went to that station, it was the first time I actually started getting a little bit of an audience. I was rapping on the station and people were starting to notice who I was.

The nickname is something I made up.

He always wants people to come to his show, that's what I mean. He kind of, like, calls the shots there. I call the shots in my neighborhood.

I'm always in that mode - whenever I have a little free time, I'm always recording songs, writing, whatever I gotta do. It's like my job is my vacation.

I'm just basically spillin' out my emotions to the world. 'Cause rap is about emotion. And I want you to feel what I'm feelin', 'cause that's what it's all about.

It was very instrumental because, like I said, that was my largest audience, and I started meeting a lot of people up there; a lot of producers, a lot of artists, a lot of different record company executives. I politicked my way [up] and started learning. So it was real crucial.

People only think these are two different genres. But they're very much the same... Rap and hip-hop are about bringing people together to your neighborhood and talking about what happens there.

Country music is about the same thing - writing about where you're from, ... You've got to respect (Toby), because he's selling a ton of records right now. It makes you want to learn more about his music.

But it's a blessing to be so successful within a year; it's the greatest feeling in the world, making money and doing the things that I'm doing, and I definitely trying to continue doing what I'm doing.

I've made it this far. Depending on whether or not I want to continue going is up to me.

I have kind of a spirit personality - part of me is calm cool and collected, while the other side is just beyond crazy.

Value our lives because we never know what day or what time it'll be over, ... Rich, famous, whatever, it just makes you appreciate just seeing today.

You go out and perform every day, so you gotta take care of yourself, health-wise, as far as drinking enough water, getting enough sleep. You're having after parties every day. You're on the road, you're messing with women, you're doing this, you're doing that. It's crazy. I mean, it was a great experience, what can I say? I loved it.

I'm always in that mode - whenever I have a little free time, I'm always recording songs, writing, whatever I gotta do. It's like my job is my vacation.
