ولدت ليزا كودرو وأسمها الحقيقى ليزا مارى ديان تودرو فى الثلاثين من يوليو عام 1963 فى كاليفورنيا بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ووالدها هو لى كودرو ويعمل طبيب أما والدتها فهى نيدرا وتعمل فى السياحة. وتخرجت ليزا من فاسار كوليج فى نيويورك وتخصصت فى علم الأحياء. وأنضمت ليزا الى فريق المسرح الكوميدى جراوندلنج ثم عملت فى التليفزيون ونالت بطولة مسلسل "Friends" عام 1994. وعملت فى السينما لأول مرة فى فيلم "La. On $5 a Day" عام 1989 وليزا متزوجة من ميشيل سيترن منذ عام 1995.
