Interesting facts
She is accepted into Columbia University, New York in 1997 but she
deferred enrollment. She did take a photography class in the summer.
Katie's callback for the part of Joey Potter on "Dawson's
Creek" conflicted with a High School production of Damn Yankees, in
which she was a lead character. Rather than let down her classmates, she
turned down the callback - much to the distress of her agent, but the
audition was rescheduled and, the rest, as they say, is history.
Apparently, the producers were very impressed by her loyalty!
Was offered the part of Buffy Summers in the "Buffy, the Vampire
Slayer" TV series. She turned the part down because she wanted to
finish High School.
Auditioned for the role of Ellie Christianson in the movie
"Wicked" (1998), but Julia Stiles won the part.
Turned down the lead role in "40 Days and 40 Nights" (2001),
due to scheduling conflicts.
Other movies ans TV series Katie auditioned for, but didn't get to
star in: Friends, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Party of Five, Big
Trouble, As The World Turns, The Beach.
Katie uses e-mail, but is not exactly a web expert.
In 2000, Katie dressed up as a one night stand for Halloween: "I
put cardboard on my shoulders, cut a hole out for my head, decorated it
with a tablecloth, a few pictures, and a lamp. Then I put a big 1 on the
tablecloth." In 2001, she dressed up as Marilyn Monroe.
She particularly dislikes traffic in LA.
She would like to work with directors Oliver Stone, Ron Howard and
Woody Allen.
She received $60.000 for the Garnier ads.
She is scared when she watches "Scream".
When she was younger, she mowed neighbors lawns for $20.
She always has painful feet.
