Known Facts

Jack's nickname Jables was given to him by his bandmate Kyle Gass. It transformed from Jabe (a smooshing of the letters J.B.) to Clark Jables to just Jables.

Jack and girlfriend Laura used to be neighbors with writer/actor Mike White. White has written and acted in such films as School of Rock, The Good Girl, Orange County, and Chuck & Buck.

Jack attended Hebrew school when he was young and had his bar mitzvah at age 13.

Jack's first music purchase was Styx, "The Grand Illusion".

As a kid, Jack used to hide wires in his clothes and let them "accidentally" fall out to make people think he was a robot.

Jack is the only child from his parent's marriage, but he has 5 half brothers/sisters.

Jack's mother Judy, and his father Tom, are both retired satellite engineers (rocket scientists).

Rick Lyon, who manned the Jack Black puppet on Crank Yankers, also worked with Jack on The Neverending Story III.

Jack has had gallstone problems since he was 16. He recently (late 2003) had his gallbladder removed.
