always defended Shania. She not only opened doors; she knocked several

The point is I support our soldiers and I think about them every day, Tim and I both do. We know what's going on and we pray for them, we pray for their families. Every time it comes across the news that we've lost another soldier, it affects me the same way as it did when we lost the first few hundred soldiers at the beginning of the war. I've still not forgotten about them and I never will. They're the reason we live in a free country not just [this] war but any that we've fought before.

The
people make up the town, and they are the most wonderful people I’ve
ever met. It’s family oriented, everyone is involved in school and
church. There’s not much to do besides those two things, but I love
going home. Everybody wants you to do good things, but in a small town
you pretty much graduate and get married. A lot of people go to college,
but mostly you marry, have children and go to their football games. When
someone jumps out of the nest and takes on an unknown challenge, the
support you get from there is really good because they’re all very
proud. It’s special.

Twain brought a whole other fan base to country music with her sound,
the way the videos were produced.
The best advice I ever received was from my mom. She taught me to not judge people until I’ve walked in their shoes, and to be thankful for the gifts I’ve been given. That applies to every aspect of my life. It keeps me away from gossip, helps me dwell on the positive and makes me a stronger person.
We don't forget (them), ... I've never been to Iraq, I would love to go. And I would love to sit down with every family member, the wife that's left over here to carry the load. I've been with a friend with three children who's carried the load while her husband was in a war, so I would say, 'You're not forgotten. Anyone will tell you that I'm the same person I was 15 years ago, when I first came to town. And the soul of what I grew up with is still part of me.
