I feel I'll take on the responsibility of
showing the world a whole different kind of Latin woman.
On-screen love scenes are nerve-wracking!
I've had to do those kinds of scenes with guys before and, honestly,
it's uncomfortable. But doing them with girls is totally different. It's
fun! It goes back to the play yard mentality: guys can be yucky, and
girls are sweet, soft and smell good.
I am obsessed with the Farrelly Brothers. I love Dumb & Dumber and Kingpin. So when I got the opportunity to audition, I was so excited. I wanted to change their minds, because the role was written very Caucasian.
In Dumb & Dumber, "Our pets' heads are falling off!" That's one of my favorites.
Every audition is difficult for me, but this one was one of the smoother ones. I went in, did my "Eva" thing and I think we all knew it was a role I could make something of.
I've been working my butt off! I literally
changed my life. I was going to college studying marketing. Then I met a
manager randomly and well -- you know the story. I quit school and took
up acting.
I hate those typical dinner/movie dates. Let's smoke, listen to music and hang. Oh yeah, order a big meal, maybe sushi. Look at pictures, fly up to San Francisco for one afternoon. I'm full of ideas. I could go on forever! Hiking, biking, skiing, mountain climbing.
It's fun to be a woman. It's fun to flirt
and wear makeup and have boobs.
I love horror movies. The Shining "Kubrick"
is my favorite.
I'm hanging out, working on a children's
book and waiting for that special project to come up. I'm careful enough
not to fall into stereotypes, so I want to choose my next project
carefully. But I'm in no hurry.
Interior design. It's my life; making things
beautiful and efficient.
The celebrity world can be so ugly. Everyone
seems to have slept with everyone else and it's some sort of strange
weird cycle. I don't want to get into that.
It was more fun working opposite Johnny Depp;
that was the highlight. But the thing is, I didn't think about my
character as a bad girl. I thought about her as a hurt girl.
I definitely don't have the celebrity
lifestyle -- but when I want to go away, I go up north (Big Sur) and
hike.
I don't go to premieres. I attend film
openings I'm in, and that's about it. Fame and celebrity doesn't matter
to me. The longevity of my career does.
It depends. Nudity, when it's relevant to the plot, is fine. I hate when you see actresses in love scenes and the sheets are placed right over their chests! It's so obvious and unnatural. But then again, if they want
breasts just for the sake of showing breasts, then no.
It's so funny. But I just felt very awkward
with a gun. I'm very klutzy, and I thought I could shoot my head off.
I think more in terms of directors… a few
of my favorites are Steven Soderbergh, Pedro Almodovar, Mike Lee, and
Luc Besson.
Bloody Mary. I used to go looking for her
when I was little, in the bathroom with the lights off, and then I'd
swear to my friends that she came and attacked me.
Mostly we make fun of the movies that
haven't succeeded. It's all out of love. They make fun of themselves, as
well.
