One of the greatest actors of all time, Sir Anthony Hopkins sheds his reserved exterior when the camera is rolling in order to produce some of the most memorable characters ever. He has become an icon both in his homeland of the United Kingdom and in the United States, one whose talents are revered across the board. His most famous role was the portrayal of the cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in the film The Silence of the Lambs (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor), Hopkins reprised the role of Dr. Lecter twice in Hannibal and Red Dragon, Hopkins has also been Oscar nominated for The Remains of the Day (1993), Other Oscar nominated performances include Nixon (1995) and Amistad (1997).
