The
thing I like about it is I think it's pretty evenly distributed
throughout the film in both men and women. Usually us girls bear the
unfair share of it. I don't think that there's anything shocking about
it. I think it's very real and tastefully done.
I
didn't feel uncomfortable about it. Maybe it was shocking for my dad,
but that's just because of me. I do think it's over hyped. The thing
that really emerges from the film is that the men have such love for
each other. Even as their sexual relationship slackens, their intimacy
deepens. The film becomes about the fact that they have a connection
together that they don't share with anyone else.
I
look my best after an entire hair and makeup team has spent hours
perfecting me. When do I feel my best? When I haven't looked in a mirror
for days, and I'm doing things that make me happy.
Yeah,
we all worked with her. Lureen liked to be the center of attention. She
was wild. She was a predator. She's a tough girl, but she's definitely a
daddy's girl from Texas. She wanted to look good. So she was kind of
doing her small town version of the big styles of the time.
I
believe I've always been a big believer in equality. No one has ever
been able to tell me I couldn't do something because I was a girl.
Honest
to God everyone on that set is so lovely. I've only been there for a
little bit. I wasn't there for the main brunt of shooting, especially
because of more difficult locations to get to but everyone's been really
lucky. I've been talking to the hair and make-up people and they said,
there's so many young actors and nobody has attitude so that's nice.
I
have no aspirations of world domination through the pop charts. None at
all.
You
can alter movie singing so much because you go into the recording studio
and, just technology for recording has gotten so good, you can hold out
a note and they can combine a note from take 2 and a note from take 8.
Luckily,
I've never had to deal with that. But it seems to be that you'd need to
have a really good sense of smell. In movies everybody always discovers
it is because they smell someone's shirt.
Kindness
is really important to me in finding my own prince - so are patience and
a sense of humor. Without those qualities he's no Prince Charming!
'I
really don't drink, I don't do drugs. I feel like right now I've been
given so many opportunities I don't want to mess it up with those things
... I think I was raised in a solidly upper-middle class family who had
really strong values and excess was not one of the things that my family
put up with.'
I have penned Oscar award winning scripts, but I've only written the first two pages [laughs]. I'm always hunting for new material. Right now I have a lot of things going on so that's not my top priority. I actually just optioned a book called The Gospel According to Gracey.
I'm working on a film right now (Brokeback Mountain) and I was walking out of my trailer and I stumbled down off the first step and kind of caught myself because the back of my dress snagged on the railing so I was literally hanging there suspended. There was a whole group of people watching so I tried to make an entrance. I was like 'look at the dress I'm wearing'. I was doing a costume fitting and like duh oh, I was caught up.
'She
is just divine. As a human being, she has basically accomplished
everything that I want to do ... It's not that she just gets inside the
character, she's just absolutely at the center of all of her choices, of
the truth of the character.
